The city of Chicago has set up cannabis amnesty boxes at O'Hare and Midway airports where travelers can drop weed instead of taking it on a plane. The boxes were installed at each airport just as
legal weed sales began in Illinois on Jan. 1. “The police aren’t targeting travelers with cannabis, and it’s not illegal to have it at the airport,” according to the Chicago
Tribune. “But possessing marijuana is still illegal under federal law, and air space is regulated by the federal government.”
