Jaguar has unveiled its
long-awaited new niche electric vehicle.
Type 01 is “the most technologically advanced and powerful Jaguar in the brand’s history,” according to the automaker.
The vehicle is “defined by exuberant proportions, with its low roofline, long bonnet, sleek silhouette and dramatic presence,” per Jaguar. “Starting from a single line
and a blank sheet of paper, it is the most aerodynamic and powerful Jaguar road car. A bold, one-of-a-kind that breaks convention, with a clear lineage to the great Jaguars of the past including the
E-type and XJS.”
The modernistic EV is designed, engineered and built in the U.K. Orders open in early 2027, with prices starting at 130,000 GBP, or about $171,823 in U.S.
currency.

The British luxury brand’s inaugural brand ambassador, actress Florence Pugh, was on hand at the unveiling Tuesday night. Her accolades include a British Independent
Film Award, in addition to nominations for an Academy Award and three BAFTA Awards.
Pugh, a Brit herself, will help the brand usher in “its new era, reinforcing the brand's
commitment to creativity, originality and cultural influence,” according to Jaguar.
The event featured a live performance by singer-songwriter Sienna Spiro, who is also
English. The “one-of-a-kind premiere” included large-scale digital displays in Times Square, DUMBO and the Lower East Side, along with an exclusive gathering in West Chelsea, which is in
zip code 10001 — not a coincidence, according to the automaker.
