Nature & Co., a Brazilian cosmetics company that purchased Avon, a 134-year-old direct seller, aims “to modernize a company in which representatives still rely largely on paper brochures and
door-to-door visits,” according to The Wall Street Journal
. Natura hopes to turn Avon’s nearly five million representatives into online influencers who sell makeup and lotion on
social media, through mobile apps and even in their own physical retail shops.
