Starbucks is testing ways to encourage consumers to use reusable cups and utensils, as well as meat alternatives. The coffee-based retailer aims to cut its carbon, waste and water use by 50% by 2030.
CEO Kevin Johnson said the plan is part of the coffee chain's goal to become "resource-positive.” Clean Water Action estimates the chain uses more than 8,000 paper cups a minute.
