Angry Orchard Teams Up With 'Scream' For Special Flavors, Video Store Pop-Up

Angry Orchard hard cider teamed up with the hit “Scream” horror franchise for a 1990s-themed Halloween pop-up that brought fans back to the video rental stores of their youth.

In partnership with Fun World (which owns the infamous “Ghost Face” copyright and trademark), the cider’s Angry Orchard Video was an immersive pop-up held in downtown Manhattan Oct. 2 and 3, which gave horror fans  a chance to relive the distinctly '90s experience of picking out a selection from the video store.

Except this store only carried the “Scream “franchise, and treated fans to a customizable membership card featuring their photo, hard cider tastings, merchandise, photo opportunities and other “Scream"-inspired experiences. “Scream” star Skeet Ulrich, who played Billy Loomis in the franchise, was on hand to greet fans.

The pop-up promoted the brand’s new limited edition Thriller Variety Pack.

“Scream is incredibly nostalgic for so many fans, and as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the franchise, we wanted to bring that ‘90s nostalgia to every part of this collaboration,” said John Dorman, director of marketing at Angry Orchard in a release. “From the VHS-inspired artwork on the Thriller Variety Pack to the Angry Orchard Video, we’re bringing fans back to a time when picking out your next scary movie was just as memorable as watching it.”

The Thriller Variety Pack has glow-in-the-dark packaging that reveals Ghost Face and the franchise's iconic line, “What's your favorite scary movie?” The pack contains four seasonal flavors: Mystery Caller, a mystery flavor;  Caramel Apple Curse, which combines buttery salted caramel with tart orchard apple; Blood Orange, which also has apple and honeysuckle notes; and Headless Pumpkin. The pack is available in retailers nationwide while supplies last.

The brand is also promoting The Thriller Variety Pack via its socials @AngryOrchard.
