“HuffPost continues to be an important part of the Verizon Media family. It is a powerful platform producing world-class journalism from some of the best talent in the industry, while maintaining strong brand recognition and a fiercely loyal audience. We remain excited for the future of HuffPost and we are committed to its success,” said a Verizon Media spokesperson.
Of her next role, Polgreen wrote: “I’ve been an audio obsessive since I was a little expat kid glued to the shortwave radio in our kitchen in Kenya, yearning to connect with the far-flung world. Gimlet has built the greatest audio team in the world, and I’m so lucky to have the chance to learn from them."
Gimlet was founded by Alex Blumberg and Matt Lieber in 2014. Spotify acquired the company in February 2019 for $230 million.
Verizon Media will begin a search for Polgreen’s replacement.
