Should Social Platforms Leave Content Moderation To AI?

As COVID-19 reshapes the global workforce, the Interface’s Casey Newton suggests that social giants shouldn’t be too quick to replace human moderators with AI. “We still need just as many moderators working to police social networks, if not more … usage is clearly surging,” he writes. “All that represents a huge bet on AI at a time when … it is still quite error-prone.”
