Avanan, a provider of an email security and collaboration platform, is introducing what it says is a first: a consumption-based payment plan for security services.

The customer will be charged only for the active accounts, the company says. This will be a help to companies affected by the COVID-19 crisis and lockdowns and to those with seasonal employees, it adds.

“In the most extreme cases, some of our customers have up to 90% of their staff on leave, with no clear idea on when those employees will return,” states Avanan CEO Gil Friedrich.

Friedrich adds that “consumption-based billing will best serve these existing customers as well as new Avanan customers.”
