In an interview with Bloomberg, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek says he expects Apple to continue opening its platforms to third-party apps. “Long term, we do expect Apple to open up,” Ek said.
“It’s moving in the right direction, but we still have many, many steps to go before.” As Bloomberg notes: “In the EU complaint filed last year, Spotify said Apple is a
platform provider and a competitor, giving it an incentive to disadvantage rival services.”
