More than 8,000 hotels could be forced to close in the fall after PPP funding runs out, according to the American Hotel and Lodging Association, which is asking Congress to step in to help with
low-interest loans. Texas Republican Congressman Van Taylor plans to introduce legislation that would provide a more permanent fix. “If I don’t have hotels, I don’t know how my
community functions,” says Taylor.
