FoodNetwork.com Cooks Up Web Special

Scripps Networks' FoodNetwork.com on Thursday said it plans to debut its first Web-exclusive series "Eat This With Dave Lieberman," on Nov. 21. The show will feature the 25-year-old Lieberman--who already hosts "Good Deal with Dave Lieberman" on the Food Network cable network--as he traverses the nation for hot food trends.

"Eat This" isn't just FoodNetwork.com's first original, multi-part online series--it is also the first Internet-only series for any Scripps Networks Web site.

Thirteen three- to-five-minute episodes--three of which will be available each week--have already been filmed, said Doug Parker, creative director for Scripps Networks Interactive and executive producer of "Eat This."

During production, said Parker, Lieberman kept things simple because each "Webisode" is presented with interactive content such as recipes, photo galleries, and travel guides. "We did keep in mind that there would be a lot of related content appearing along with the show," he said. Each episode also comes with supplementary clips related to significant show topics.

Microsoft, which advertises on the Food Network cable channel as well as throughout FoodNetwork.com, is currently the exclusive sponsor of "Eat This with Dave Lieberman."

The show did not contain any product placement because Scripps' corporate policy does not permit it, Parker said.

FoodNetwork.com will provide a travelogue of every show location--New York, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, and Miami--with additional information and related links, and will show popular eateries in each city.
