The Disney+ streaming channel is beefing up its disclaimers about racial stereotypes in its old film titles. A 12-second advisory that can't be skipped offers a more in-depth warning about
“negative depictions” and “mistreatment of people or cultures" in titles such as "Dumbo" (1941), "Peter Pan" (1953), "The Aristocats" (1970), "The Jungle Book" (1967) and
the original “Lady and the Tramp." "These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now,” per the disclaimer. "Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its
harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together.”
