Volkswagen Goes To The (Mini) Movies

In yet another example of an automaker using the Web as a marketing tool (remember BMW?) German automaker Volkswagen is rolling out 120 short online films in a new campaign for the Passat. The 15-second films were produced by VW's outgoing agency, Arnold Worldwide of Boston, which lost the account to Miami's Crispin Porter & Bogusky last month. The films will be rolled out on the company's Web site, and the effort is believed to be the most extensive use of online films ever in a single branded entertainment campaign.
