'Richmond County Daily Journal' Starts Email Newsletter

North Carolina’s Richmond County Daily Journal has taken a step many local papers have: It has launched an email newsletter.

“Newspapers are constantly evolving,” states Brian Bloom, regional publisher. “We wanted to find a mechanism that will provide pertinent information in a condensed format.”

The paper says its Wednesdays and Saturdays print editions will remain the same.

Information featured in the paper’s e-edition will now be available for free. The e-edition is available to subscribers only.

The newsletter, featuring the top headlines, will hit inboxes at 5 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Readers are advised to go to the yourdailyjournal.com site and fill out the form “Get Daily Headline E-Newsletters” in the boxes located along the right hand rail of our homepage."

Potential subscribers are being asked for names and email addresses.

“We will continue to cover all the news our readers expect,” Bloom said. “And our print edition, available each Wednesday and Saturday, can provide even more comprehensive coverage.”

The newspaper has served the community since 1931. Richmond County was founded in 1779, amid cotton and indigo plantations.

The paper states its goal is “giving readers a balanced and fair account of what goes on in this community and elsewhere in the world will never change, while the means through which we deliver your community news and information has expanded rapidly.”
