'Newsweek' Launches Daily National Security Podcast

Newsweek has launched its latest podcast, "The Daily Break," which national security.

The news-oriented series is hosted by Naveed Jamali, editor-at-large at Newsweek and former FBI double agent, Navy intelligence officer and author of “How to Catch a Russian Spy.”

The program will have a daily episode format and include occasional guests. 

The initial guest roster includes retired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the former Director for European Affairs for the United States National Security Council, author and psychologist Mary Trump and William Hurd, former GOP Congressman from Texas and CIA officer.

"The Daily Break" is Newsweek’s third podcast — the others include "The Diplomat" and "The Debate." They are part of Newsweek’s push to become a destination for debate on critical issues.

 “ 'The Daily Break' will be a destination for objective news analysis that helps the audience digest the biggest stories of the day with a critical eye, rather than getting swept up in partisan talking points,” Jamali states. “One of my passion points is to follow the news cycle and report in real time — whether via social or my column in Newsweek.”
