Hearst Names Pant Chief Technology And Product Officer For Magazines Unit, CDS Global

Hearst Magazines announced its interim head of media platforms, Rajiv Pant, has been named general manager of technology platforms and Chief Technology and Product Officer. In his new role, he will oversee technology and product development for the magazine division, Hearst Autos and CDS Global, the fulfillment-company Hearst subsidiary.

Pant, who joined Hearst Magazines in August 2021, will be responsible for developing state-of-the-art technology, building innovative advertising solutions and integrating industry-leading product engineering with content across the company’s portfolio of brands, the company said in a press release on Wednesday.

He will also lead the modernization of the technology platform powering CDS Global and Hearst Magazines’ digital businesses.

“In the short time he has been at Hearst, Rajiv’s strong leadership, deep expertise and unwavering passion have helped to significantly accelerate the development of our technology and platform capabilities,” Hearst Magazines President Debi Chirichella said. “In addition to being results-driven and a collaborative business partner, Rajiv’s ability to build and drive strategy across functions makes him the ideal candidate for this role.”

Pant brings more than 20 years of experience in product, design and engineering to Hearst. Most recently, he served as senior advisor to McKinsey & Company and the AI startup You.com. Previously, he was Chief Product and Technology Officer of The Wall Street Journal, a position he held before being named deputy CTO of News Corp, the parent company of the WSJ and several other global brands.

He also held numerous leadership roles at The New York Times, Condé Nast, Reddit and Cox Media Group and spent nearly a decade at Knight Ridder. Pant begins his new role on Feb. 1, reporting to Chirichella.

CDS Global is a leading provider of end-to-end business solutions, managing more than 200 million consumers for more than 1,000 brands across industries, including media, nonprofits and consumer products.
