Continuing Torrid Acquisition Pace, Endeavor Buys Microgrid Knowledge

Endeavor Business Media last week announced the acquisition of Microgrid Knowledge, a business covering the distributed-energy sector that includes an online news and information site designed to advance microgrid adoption and the Microgrid Conference series.

It was the company’s second acquisition of the week and eighth deal of 2022. On May 2, the company announced the acquisition of Putman Media, a B2B company that specializes in manufacturing markets. The acquisition of Putman, an 84-year-old privately held company based in Schaumburg, Illinois, is one of the most significant in Endeavor’s recent string of acquisitions.

Terms of either deal were not disclosed.

The Microgrid Knowledge acquisition will align with Endeavor’s energy brands, such as T&D WorldEnergyTech, and Utility Analytics Institute, among others, Endeavor said in a press release.

“Led by a talented editorial team, Microgrid Knowledge is a valuable resource for energy businesses, organizations and policymakers who are on the forefront of the fast-growing energy arena,” Chris Ferrell, CEO of Nashville-based Endeavor, said.

Microgrid Knowledge provides news on microgrids and distributed energy resources with original content about markets, policies, trends and technologies. The website attracted 375,000 unique visitors last year, including large energy customers, energy project developers, utilities, and energy equipment vendors and suppliers.

The Microgrid Conference series offers in-person networking and education. The next event, Microgrid 2022: Microgrids as Climate Heroes, is scheduled for June 1-2 in Philadelphia.
