Dotdash Meredith has named Wendy
Naugle editor in chief of People Magazine, effective immediately.
Liz Vaccariello, who formerly held the position, is moving to a corporate
editorial leadership position.
Having served as deputy editor since 2019, Naugle will oversee all print editorial strategy.
"Wendy is an amazing editor and award-winning
journalist with deep knowledge of the brand—she has spearheaded some of our largest franchises, including Sexiest Man Alive, the Beautiful Issue, 100 Reasons to Love America and People
of the Year," states Leah Wyar, president of Dotdash Meredith's Entertainment Group, to whom Naugle will report.
Observers might find it curious that Naugle is tasked entirely with
print. In April, Dotdash Meredith announced it was eliminating the print editions of Martha Stewart Living, the seventh Meredith magazine this year to be shifted to
online-only format.

Naugle is certainly familiar with the beat. Prior to joining People, Naugle was executive editor of Glamour for nearly 20 years. There
she led editorial content and the brand's Women of the Year Awards and Women of the Year Summit.
Naugle and her team seek to create “powerful stories every day and every week that
entertain, inform and delight our millions of readers,” she says.
