Golf champion Patrick Reed has refiled a $750 million lawsuit alleging that he was defamed by Brandel Chamblee and the Golf Channel. 

The case, originally filed in Texas in August, is now on file with the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Other defendants have been added to it, including Golf Channel commentators Damon Hack, Shane Bacon and Eamon Lynch. 

Reed's attorney, Larry Klayman, also has filed suit against  Golfweek and Gannett, its parent company, because Lynch is a Golfweek columnist, according to the Florida Times-Union, a Gannett paper. 

Chamblee, Hack, Bacon and Lynch and the PGA Tour, are accused of "conspiracy, defamation, injurious falsehood and tortious interference" over allegations that Reed cheated in golf tournaments. 

“The PGA Tour’s and its ‘partner’ the NBC’s Golf Channel’s mission is to destroy a top LIV Golf Tour player, his family, as well as all of the LIV Golf players, to further their agenda and alleged collaborative efforts to destroy the new LIV Golf Tour,” Klayman states.  

Klayman adds, “As alleged in the Complaint, these calculated malicious attacks have created hate, aided and abetted a hostile workplace environment, and have caused substantial financial and emotional damage and harm to Mr. Reed and his family.” 

It is not clear how Gannett would be liable in this case. 

The Southern Poverty Law Center charges that Klayman is “pathologically litigious," the Times-Union reports.

Reed was the Masters Champion in 2018, and is a nine-time PGA Tour winner.
