Pilar Guzmán has been named editorial director of Oprah Daily, the multiplatform membership brand, Oprah Winfrey and Hearst Magazines announced on Thursday. She starts on Oct. 21.  

In this newly created role, Guzmán will oversee content strategy across Oprah Daily’s digital, social, video and print platforms.  

Guzmán joins Oprah Daily after serving as coo-founder of  The Swell, a venture-backed membership community and platform for women over 40. 

“Pilar is a gifted strategist and storyteller who deeply understands what it means to create a better life for yourself from the inside out,” Winfrey states. 

Winfrey adds that Guzmán’s ‘strong sensibilities about our audience and proven track record of building brands will help us deliver even more inspiring content, live programming and a deeper sense of community for our Oprah Daily Insider members.”  

The announcement was made by Winfrey, and by Hearst President and CEO Steven R. Swartz and Hearst Magazines President Debi Chirichella.
