CherryRoad Media has added another newspaper to its growing stable: The McCall (Idaho) Star-News. The acquisition was announced last week.
CherryRoad, which purchased its first newspaper only two years ago, is planning on introducing “new technologies to the publication, while maintaining the high standards of the
printed newspaper,” states Jeremy Gulban, CEO and founder.
The Star-News was owned by Central Idaho Publishing Inc., a partnership between
Tom and Tomi Grote of McCall and A.L. "Butch" Alford Jr., of Lewiston, Idaho.
Alford, who bought the Central Idaho Star-News in 1975, is
the senior publisher/editor of Tribune Publishing Company, owner of The Lewiston Morning Tribune, the Moscow-Pullman Daily News and other assets.

CherryRoad Media, a subsidiary of CherryRoad Technologies, now owns 79
newspapers in 14 states. The firm hopes to marry its technology and local media side to strengthen publications and communities.
In September, CherryRoad

CherryRoad Technologies, which offers technology solutions such as cloud hosting and other
network systems, was started by Gulban’s father in 1983. Jeremy Gulban reportedly took over in 2008.
