Instead of looking forward, marketers should take a quick look back at 2005 and review the driving forces in interactive marketing and advertising. Among the most significant were the rush by
marketers to place ads online (by midyear, over 1 billion video ads were streamed online each month). In other areas, RSS took off, and as portals raced for content and blogs penetrated mainstream
consciousness, blog networks went big time. Also, search got even bigger and adware firms cleaned up their act as the federal government tackled spyware.
