Super Bowl XL is still a month a way, but the pre-game ad scrimmage kicked off Thursday when domain name registrar GoDaddy.com began spinning some controversy surrounding its possible role as an
advertiser in this year's game. GoDaddy.com, which last year ran a popular Super Bowl commercial that featured a woman dancing provocatively before a Senate subcommittee, announced it is in
negotiations with ABC to run another "GoDaddy-esque" TV commercial. "GoDaddy.com is continuing to work with the ABC television network's 'Standards and Practices' division to reach agreement on the
commercial's creative content," the statement read. "We hope censorship will not kill the creative edge that once accompanied Super Bowl commercials, especially those ads we would choose to run."
