Feeling Angry? BK's Got Just The Thing

Burger King is embracing its dark side with the relaunch of the Angry Whopper, an item it began selling in 2009 and released at various other times through the years.

The Angry Whopper was originally introduced in Europe, but then made its way to the U.S.

It features a quarter-pound beef patty, bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapenos, mayonnaise and Angry Sauce on a toasted sesame seed bun. The spicy sauce explains most of the anger component.

Today’s Angry Whopper is considered a less flamboyant version of its 2016 release, the “Angriest Whopper,” which was hot-sauce-infused and featured a red sesame bun.

BK is adding a line extension with Angry breakfast sandwiches, also the company’s latest salvo in the breakfast wars that began after Wendy’s and Taco Bell entered the breakfast arena to take on leader McDonald’s.
