MeasureCast, Inc. is reporting that an Internet radio industry milestone was reached in January when two web radio networks measured by MeasureCast streamed more than 2 million hours of music in a single month. The January MeasureCast Internet Radio Report shows that the WARP Radio network of streaming AM and FM stations streamed 2,877,453 hours, making it the most-listened to web radio network. Stations in the StreamAudio network streamed 2,213,172 hours of music. Rounding out the top five web radio networks were Virgin Radio (1,460,181 hours), JazzFM (1,043,190 hours), and SurferNetwork (868,856 hours). The 1,196 on-line radio stations measured by MeasureCast in January streamed a total of 22,690,686 hours of music, news, and talk programming to 2,556,116 people worldwide.
