Online Tax Traffic

Nielsen//NetRatings is reporting that traffic to IRS.gov, the official website for the Internal Revenue Service, jumped 85% during the week ending February 3rd, attracting 1.9 million visitors at-home. Surfers logged on to the new IRS website, which debuted on January 28th, to get an early start on tax filing this season. Thirty-six percent of the site's audience accessed pages featuring downloadable tax forms and publications. More than 25% of the surfers visiting IRS.gov accessed pages featuring the e-file program, including information on how to electronically file taxes.
