Lee Enterprises Plans To Reduce Print To Three Days A Week: Report

Lee Enterprises is planning to reduce its printing frequency for most of its newspapers to three days a week, according to a report in the Daily Montanan.

There was no information on which days would be print days. The change would affect all Lee titles except those in the 20 of its largest, the Montanan writes, citing anonymous sources.

In a related development, Lee has named David McCumber, previously the editor of the Montana Standard and Lee’s western regional editor, as the top editor of the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson and Lee’s Arizona news editor.

Almost one fourth of the Daily Star’s news staff was eliminated last week, the Montanan continues. The newspaper is jointly owned by Gannett and Lee, it adds.
