The French
daily Le Monde is continuing its international push, launching a bilingual app that features English translations.
"Today, with the launch of
the app, we are pursuing our development strategy, with the ambition of expanding our portfolio of digital subscribers and contributing to the pluralism of reliable and rigorously checked sources of
information, as a complement to the national media,” says Louis Dreyfus, chief executive officer of Le Monde Group.
Le Monde introduced an
English-language digital edition last year, and it has drawn more than three million visits as of July.
Overall, Le Monde has a paid circulation of 482,001 copies, and
receives 173 million visits to its websites and applications per month.
