The New Yorker has launched its first podcast devoted to arts and culture: Critics at Large.
The weekly podcast will feature three New Yorker staff writers: Vinson Cunningham, Naomi Fry, and Alexandra Schwartz.
They promise to engage in lively, even contentious, debates about movies, books, theatre, music and other forms of culture.
Critics at Large will appear on Thursdays, starting on Sept. 28.
Cunningham is the theatre critic for The New Yorker. Schwartz is a literary critic, and Fry a scholar of pop culture and high art.
The co-hosts are eager to “hash out whatever it is that we can’t stop thinking about. Hopefully, we can help listeners — and ourselves — make sense of this ever-changing moment in the culture.”
“Some of my favorite conversations in the office take place among our critics as they chew over what’s happening in contemporary culture,” adds David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker.

I'll bet New Yorker critics agree on most cultural matters.
