Forget pumpkin spice—at least for a day. National Taco Day, (a holiday I fully support, because, well, TACOS!) is Oct. 4, with several chains offering promos for the taco fanatic in many of us.
Taco Bell has turned National Taco Day into a month of taco goodness with the return of the Taco Lover’s Pass. The pass, originally launched for a limited time in January, entitles the owner to one taco per day for 30 days. This time the $10 pass is only available on Oct. 4 via the Taco Bell app. The brand is also promoting the day via social through “Taco T@g.” A Taco Day commemorative video will post on the brand’s various international social accounts with a call to action to tag a friend. Those tagged will receive a notice of a taco deal, prompting the game of tag to continue.
Perhaps the most amusing of the Taco Day promotions is from Chuy’s. Guests who arrive at the restaurant on Oct. 4dressed as a taco (see example above) and post a photo on social media using #ChuysTacoDay will receive a free dine-in entrée of their choice. The chain is also offering $1 tacos as an add-on to any entrée.
