Amrita Khalid is joining The Verge’s general news team in November, moving over from the Hot Pod newsletter on podcasts and the audio industry. Khalid’s last day on Hot Pod was Friday.   

Ariel Shapiro, who joined Hot Pod as lead reporter last April, will again head up the newsletter. Hot Pod will again be entirely back in Shapiro’s hands, Khalid writes in The Verge.   

“It’s probably not a surprise to most of you that I knew very little about podcasts before taking this job back in April — a time that also coincided with some seismic changes in the podcast industry itself,” Khalid says.
