Peter Piper Pizza is turning National Tongue Twister Day (Nov. 12) into a weeklong celebration with the launch of a guest tongue twister competition, which also commemorates the chain’s 50th anniversary.
Until Nov. 19, the chain is challenging guests to say “"Peter Piper Pizza is the pepperoni pizza people pick," in English, or in Spanish, "Peter Piper Pizza es la pizza de pepperoni que las personas prefieren." Those customers who are able to say the phrase will receive free breadsticks with any purchase.
"Our restaurant name is nearly a tongue-twister in itself, so we figured we might as well have fun with National Tongue Twister Day and offer guests a weeklong deal," said Peter Piper Pizza chief marketing officer Genaro Perez. "The Peter Piper brand was built around food, family and fun and we know our guests and team members will have a lot of fun with this promotion."
The chain, which opened its first location in Glendale, Arizona in 1973 and now operates over 120 locations in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas, also added a Apple Harvest Dessert to its menu. The new dessert consists of dough with apple filling, cinnamon, a brown sugar glaze and topped with streusel crumble and icing
Additionally the pizza restaurant has added a Garlic Parmesan Wings and brought back its Xtrastuf stuffed cheese crust to the menu.
Upping its in-store entertainment options, Peter Piper offers a virtual reality game in its Metro Center restaurant in Phoenix and the Baseline Road location in Mesa, Arizona. On Nov. 22, a Tucson, Arizona location will open the first Peter Piper Pizza Trampoline Zone for kids under 5’2".
