Two Oregon Weeklies Are Being Combined

Two weekly Oregon newspapers are being combined into a single product.

The Newport News-Times and Lincoln County News Guard have published their final editions and will now be issued as the Lincoln County Leader, starting Wednesday.

The News-Times says “not a whole lot will change for News-Time readers,” except for the banner at the top of the page.

The new paper combines the staffs of the two papers.

Country Media bought newspapers in Newport, Florence and Cottage Grove from their Illinois-based owner. It already owned the Lincoln City paper.

Earlier, Country Media announced it would combine the St. Helens Chronicle and The Clatskanie Chief into one newspaper.
