Gannett And The USA Today Network Hook Up With The Big 10 Conference

Gannett Co., Inc. and the USA Today Network have signed a multiyear agreement to become the official content partner of the Big Ten Conference

Content from USA Today’s local network, including The Columbus Dispatch, The Des Moines Register, Detroit Free Press and The Indianapolis Star, will be featured on BigTen.org.

In addition, the USA Today Network will publish the Big Ten Conference’s game-day programs for football and men’s and women’s basketball.

The Big Ten is the oldest Division I collegiate conference in the U.S., Gannett says.

“The USA Today Network’s local footprint is uniquely positioned across key college markets and dedicated to amplifying the importance of recognizing these sports,” says Nate Scott, vice president and publisher, USA Today Sports Media Group.

“The USA Today Network’s talented writers cover so many Big Ten stories, programs, and student-athletes,” said Tyler Kupper, vice president of corporate partnerships for Big Ten.

Kupper adds, “Gannett will make for a great partner to the Big Ten Conference, Big Ten Network and coverage of our championship events.”

As part of this project, USA Today will continue to produce souvenir covers to commemorate the winners of Big Ten championship games. This began last year and was highlighted by the “A-MAIZE-ING” headline that celebrated Michigan’s win in the title game.
