Megan Kitt Acquires 'The Coronado Times' From Steve Johnson

The Coronado Times, an online newspaper serving the San Diego area, has been sold by owner Steve Johnson.

The new owner is Megan Kitt, a reporter at the publication since 2022, who has 15 years of journalistic experience.

The terms were not disclosed.

“Megan plans to continue the ethos and mission of our publication while expanding coverage and building out more benefits for readers, partners and advertisers,” Johnson writes.

The Coronado Times reaches 75,000 monthly readers, including 15,000 subscribers.

“I didn’t know immediately that one day I’d own The Coronado Times, but now that I do, it solidifies that my family has found our long-term home,” Kitt writes. “As a military family, that means a lot – as many of our readers know."

Dani Schwartz will continue as managing editor.
