Chili's Challenges Fans to 'Catch A 'Rita' At Daytona 500

Just in time for National Margarita Day on Feb. 22, Chili’s is promoting its Presidente Margarita in this Sunday’s Daytona 500 with the unveiling of its ‘Catch a ‘Rita’ No. 7 Chevrolet, driven by NASCAR’s Corey LaJoie.

In a partnership with Spire Motorsports, the car’s paint scheme features Chili’s Presidente Margarita on the sides of the car, as well as nine QR codes around the vehicle and on LaJoie’s fire suit. Fans at the race as well as those watching at home can attempt to scan one of the QR codes on the car or on LaJoie for a chance to win a $10 Chili’s gift card or a VIP trip to see LaJoie race in Austin on March 24.

“I’ve had some really interesting paint schemes in Daytona, but this one takes the cake – or margarita glass – by giving fans a little token of our appreciation for following our battle on the track,” said Corey LaJoie, Spire Motorsports’ driver of the Chili’s ‘Catch a ‘Rita’ No. 7 Chevy in a release.

The car paint scheme, designed by Jon Marshall & Daughters, also honors Chili’s 1,126 general managers by including all of their names painted on the car itself.

The ‘Catch a ‘Rita’ No. 7 Chevy is also appearing in multiple advertisements featuring LaJoie, one in which he introduces the car’s design, including the ‘Catch-a-‘Rita’ challenge, seen here, and another which will air during the Daytona 500.

Those who may have blinked and missed the QR code can still take advantage of Chili’s National Margarita Day specials such as the Tequila Trifecta, which features three premium tequilas, el Jimador Silver, 1800 Reposado and Jose Cuervo Gold, with triple sec and fresh sour for $5, or the StrawEddy, made with Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka, Lunazul Blanco Tequila, strawberry puree and fresh sour for $6.
