Baskin-Robbins Marks Pi Day, Global Math Celebration

Baskin-Robins is now joining the global math “holiday” celebration of Pi Day, March 14, by collaborating with Mathnasium Learning Centers, a tutoring chain of more than 1,000 locations worldwide.

Pi Day is acknowledged annually by math enthusiasts to honor the importance of math and its well-known symbol, Pi -- the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, which is approximately 3.14.

Baskin-Robbins and Mathnasium will hold a sweepstakes from now through Pi Day,  Mar. 14 -- yes, 3/14 -- offering three winners a "pi-worthy" $3,140 educational sponsorship and free ice cream for a year, according to an announcement. Participants can enter at https://www.mathnasium.com/pi-day.

On Pi Day itself, Mar. 14, Mathnasium Centers will host Pi Day-themed parties at many locations, which are free and open to the public. The events will contain stations on exploring pi, memory games and pi word searches, and the kid-friendly event aims to encourage learning in a fun and comprehensive way.

Baskin-Robins will supply the party ice cream treats, including the brand’s Polar Pizzas. The ice cream treats have a chocolate chip cookie or double fudge brownie crust, topped with ice cream and selected toppings.

At the Westwood, Calif., Mathnasium, Baskin-Robbins will take over the entire location on Pi Day with merchandise giveaways, mascot appearances, prizes, games, crafts, treats and a pink carpet, among others. One of the first 10 people in line will receive a $25 Baskin-Robbins gift card.
