The Washington Post has named Suzi Watford as its first chief strategy officer, effective May 13. Watford will oversee the Post’s strategy across all its business
functions, including marketing and events.
Previously, Watford was chief growth officer at SiriusXM.
Her new role will be to work with Post leadership to define
long-term vision, strategy and priorities.
“I’m confident her experience and competitive industry prowess will advance our role as the most important news organization
in America,” says William Lewis, publisher and CEO of the Post, to whom Watford will report.
Prior to joining SiriusXM, Watford served as the executive vice president
of consumer business at Dow Jones, doubling digital subscriptions across the business while driving revenue and profits. In addition, she held the post of chief marketing & membership officer at
Dow Jones,
