Daniel Bernard To Serve As Chief Product And Technology Officer At Hearst Magazines

Hearst Magazines has named Daniel Bernard as chief product and technology officer, effective June 3.  

Bernard will oversee technology, product development and user experience. 

Previously, Bernard was chief experience officer for Dow Jones. In that role, he oversaw product management, user experience, technology, customer intelligence and data and AI functions for the Dow Jones portfolio of businesses.

“Daniel is an innovative and strategic leader with deep digital experience and a profound understanding of today’s media consumer,” says Debi Chirichella, president of Hearst Magazines, to whom Bernard will report.  

Chirichella adds, “He has a proven track record of leveraging new and emerging technology and creating products that attract and grow audiences while driving revenue.”  

Bernard first joined Dow Jones in 2008 as vice president of marketing. He later served as the chief product officer at Gannett prior to returning to Dow Jones in 2017, and earlier in his career as head of product for Time.com, Fortune.com and Money.com.
