Fox Starts Unwired Program Service For Its Refugee Stations

Fox will start an unwired program services that will offer up Monday to Friday syndicated-like strip programming to its stations in the wake of the recent deal that would merge the UPN and WB networks. A memo was written by Fox Television Stations CEO Jack Abernethy wrote to station general managers, which was reported in trade the press yesterday, said the plan would be unveiled in the next few weeks. Nine Fox-owned stations--including those in the top three markets--will lose their UPN affiliations this fall to The CW, the new network formed from a combination of The WB and UPN.
