Dispatch Magazines/Gannett has named Katy Smith as editor of Columbus Monthly.

Smith succeeds Dave Ghose, who will become editor of the alumni magazine at Ohio State University.

Previously, Smith served as business editor of The Columbus Dispatch and editor of Columbus CEO magazine.

“We at Dispatch Magazines are thrilled to land a Columbus expert like Katy Smith, who will undoubtedly maintain and grow Columbus Monthly’s deep ties to the community,” says Brian Barry, vice president of magazines for Gannett. 

Smith comments, “I am dedicated to continuing the insightful, engaging storytelling the magazine has pursued since its 1975 founding.”
