Axel Springer CEO Mathias Doepfner insists that no jobs will be lost due to the creation of articles by artificial intelligence.
"Is it going to take the jobs of journalists?” Doepfner asked during the NOAH tech conference, according to Reuters.
He answered, “What we can see is exactly the opposite. We can now do things we could never afford in analogue days when we could only rely on big teams of journalists.”
Earlier, Doepfner said his company, whic is on the lookout for AI acquisitions.

Last December, Axel Springer signed a deal that would allow OpenAI to use its content to train AI models. That deal was praised by Danielle Coffey CEO, of the News/Media Alliance.
“These business arrangements are a good start in setting benchmarks for payment, demonstrating precedent of value,” Coffey said at the time.
Doepfner has said AI is not a structural enemy of journalism, but “a potential friend.”advertisement
