One burger chain is encouraging fans to stay in bed and keep gaming by launching a collab with the global gaming sensation Fortnite.
Whataburger has joined forces with the game to create a themed Fortnite "Bedwars" map, as well as launching a “Breakfast in Bedwars” Fortnite tournament.
The custom map combines Fortnite's building and combat mechanics with the popular creative mode "Bedwars.” For the gaming tournament, four teams of three players will try to defend their “beds” while simultaneously launching attacks on their opponents' bases. Players are competing for a chance to win $25,000 in cash prizes.
In order to enter the tournament, now through July 15 players must post their best clips playing the Whataburger "Breakfast in Bedwars" map on the social platform X and tag #BreakfastInBedwars. Then the top scoring 16 contestants will be invited to be tournament captains, as well as adding two teammates for the qualifier on July 17, which consists of a single elimination bracket. The main event takes place on July 22, where the top four teams will compete alongside popular Fortnite creators for a share of the $25,000 prize. The first-place team will take home $10,000.
