The Washington Post has laid
off 54 people at Arc XP, its cloud-based digital experience platform.
Matt Monahan, president of Arc XP President, informed employees on Monday, Axios reports.
The tech
unit has been losing money, Axios says.
Known as Arc Publishing prior to being rebranded by The Washington Post in 2021, Arc XP facilitates content
creation, subscription management, ecommerce and multimedia entertainment. It was launched in 2015.
The staff reduction will be accompanied by a “sharpened product vision,”
Monahan wrote, according to Axios. Arc XP employed around 300 people before the cutback.
The cross-functional team has included technologists, engineers
and sales representatives.
