Texas will soon have a new source of free news
content: The Waco Bridge will launch in the spring of 2025.
The product is the first in a network of local newsrooms across the state, according
to The Baylor Lariat.
The digital-first publication will offer content on the web, in social media and through email newsletters and community events,
it adds.
The goal is to empower Waco residents with “high-quality local information,” the new entity says, according to
local news station 25 ABC.
In addition, the publication hopes to “connect Wacoans, foster civic engagement and bring solutions to pressing
challenges,” it adds.
The Waco Bridge was conceived based on research conducted by the American Journalism Project with funds from
the Waco Foundation, the Baylor Lariat writes.
