'Guitar Player' Sunsets Its Print Magazine

Guitar Player magazine, which has been appearing since 1967, is eliminating its print edition.

The final print issue, featuring a cover story interview with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, goes on sale October 15.

Readers will continue to be served through the magazine’s digital edition. Christopher Scapelliti will become digital editor in chief of GuitarPlayer.com.

Guitar Player is “the world's oldest continuously published magazine devoted to guitarists, guitar gear – including electric guitars and acoustic guitars – and instruction,” the editors write.

They continue that the magazine "has featured some of music's most important and iconic guitarists, beginning with its December 1968 cover story on Jimi Hendrix.”
