The entertainment trade Variety has laid off three editorial staffers.
One was Meredith Woerner, deputy editor, according to The Wrap.
“Yesterday was my last day at Variety,” Woerner said on X on Thursday, The Wrap reports. “I was included in a round of layoffs and … I’m heartbroken. Working at Variety for the past seven years has been a privilege and an adventure.”
One of Woerner’s accomplishments was working on six seasons of “Making a Scene.”
Woerner praised the Variety web team as “the most passionate, collaborative, kind, and brilliant collection of people I’ve ever seen,” The Wrap continues.
