Journalists at the Anchorage Daily News have voted to create a union by a 13-4 margin, making the Daily News Alaska’s first unionized newspaper. 

Members of the new Anchorage News Guild will join the Pacific Northwest Newspaper Guild, a local union of The NewsGuild-CWA.

The staff filed a petition for a union vote with the National Labor Relations Board in September.
