Life can throw a lot of curve balls your way, like flat tires or job loss… but a sleepwalking, streaking husband? According to Teriyaki Madness, its food can smooth things over in any situation -- Including public nudity.
In the chain’s first national effort “Teriyaki Fixes Everything,” created by agency Party Land, not only is teriyaki the hero for its taste, it is the answer to, well, everything.
In the :30 spot, seen here, we see a visibly tense family driving, with a sheepish-looking father at the wheel, as a voiceover describes the family’s difficult day in song. The mood changes dramatically as they pull into a Teriyaki Madness, a place “so delicious.. they’ll forgive what you did today.” The spot then flashes back to an incident where we see the dad walking down the street, apparently asleep, in full view of the entire neighborhood, wearing nothing but two mismatched shoes. But as the family happily enjoys their food, the tongue-in-cheek voiceover reassures the viewer that, despite flashing the neighbors, “teriyaki fixes everything.” A super displays the new tagline, “Crazy Delicious.”

“Teriyaki Madness has over 160 fast-casual restaurants nationwide, but this is our first larger national media buy. We want people to know that our teriyaki is so good, it will fix just about anything going on in your life -- even if you accidentally sleepwalked through the neighborhood naked and perhaps embarrassed the entire family,” said Jodi Boyce, CMO at Teriyaki Madness, in a release. “We take our food seriously, but we don’t take ourselves seriously, and Party Land helped us create an entertaining campaign that will make people smile, and potentially drool a bit too.”
The campaign is airing nationwide through the end of 2024 on CTV, pre-roll and social video platforms, including YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. Additionally the work includes Spotify audio ads and digital display banners.
Teriyaki Madness, founded in Denver, operates locations across the U.S., as well as in Canada and Mexico and a soon to open location in El Salvador. The chain specializes in made-to-order teriyaki bowls.
