Reach, reportedly the UK’s largest news publisher, is combining staffs on two of its titles in an apparent effort to reduce costs.
The Daily Mirror plans to merge its staff with that of OK! Magazine, a celebrity publication.
“Today I want to let you know that I’m planning to bring together our teams across the Mirror, magazines and supplements into one structure,” wrote Caroline Waterston, editor in chief at Reach, a note to the staff, according to The Guardian. “I’m doing this to consolidate the significant experience and expertise we have, ultimately enabling us to get the most out of the fantastic journalism across both teams and drive better results for our brands.”
It was not clear at deadline how many staffers would be affected.
